Aussie anthemic rock heroes Gang Of Youths have been hard at work overseas for the last several years, and it appears to be paying off.
The band, who are currently based in London, have freewheeled between the UK/EU and the US on a constant touring schedule (when the pandemic has allowed) and as a result have taken their live act, if you can believe it, to another level of intensity.
That intensity was beamed right into the living rooms of millions of Americans this week, with the band taking to the Colbert Show for a stirring performance of their single ‘The Angel of 8th Ave.”
A classic Bruce Springsteen meets The Unforgettable Fire-era U2 fusion, with a healthy dose of The National and Arcade Fire inspiration, ‘Angel’ is the trademark type of track GOY fans have come to salivate over, and if the band’s op-shop jacket-clad performance is anything to by, it’s set to be a live highlight. The performance lands as part of the rollout of the bands’ hotly anticipated 3rd LP Angel in Realtime, due to land on February 25.
The record marks a major turning point for the band, being the follow-up to their 2017 smash success Go Farther In Lightness.
With a new collection of songs and a monolithic live show to boot, the band has also announced a swag of arena dates down under for next year. Check them out below and find ticket details here.
