Hatebreed have dropped the video for the first single from their upcoming album – and it’s filled with all sorts of firey goodness.
Put It to the Torch sees the band come roaring out of the blocks with Jamey Jasta’s growls and a flurry of speed guitars. The video features a businessman getting attacked from afar by a bit of voodoo magic, getting thrown around like a rag doll by a gladiator. He’s then drawn into their flame-filled world for a bit of fire-twirling. The clip winds up as the guy is handed a huge flaming mace and is sent into battle to fight one of the tribe’s top masters. Hatebreed’s new album The Divinity of Purpose is set for a January 29 release. It’s their sixth studio record, and the first offering since 2009’s self-tiled album. They have lined up a North American tour and a handful of European festival appearances to support the release.
The band were last in the country in 2012 for Soundwave, where in Melbourne they managed to get a circle pit to stretch right around the sound desk at the other end.
