Watch Hayley Williams Crash Chvrches’ Set On The Paramore Cruise

It’s all aboard the SS Paramore over in the US where the pop-punk heavyweights have just finished throwing their very own rock concert at sea: the annual Parahoy cruise.

And as a special treat for all of the Converse-wearing buccaneers on board, frontwoman Hayley Williams even made a surprise cameo.

The singer caused fans to poop their decks by appearing onstage during Chvrches‘ set for an extra-awesome rendition of their hit Bury It.

You know what they say: all bets are off in international waters.

It’s not the first time that the two kickass parties have performed the song together, either. Williams joined the Lauren Mayberry-fronted Scottish trio on stage in Nashville to sing it with them on Chvrches’ US headline tour last year.

Williams and Mayberry seem to have struck up a close sisterhood in recent times based on mutual respect for each others’ music.

Mayberry paid homage to Paramore with a cover of their vintage hit Ignorance for a performance on rock band last year, before praising Hayley Williams as a vocal inspiration this International Women’s Day.

“I remember first hearing them and just thinking that her voice was absolutely insane, her vocal range is incredible. You can tell immediately it’s her when you hear her in any song,” Mayberry told triple j.

“She’s such an energetic live performer as well and I really love that whenever you see them live, she’s just such a kick-ass band frontperson. Regardless of the fact that she’s female, she’s so powerful.”

While Williams has applauded Mayberry for her outspoken criticism of misogyny in the music industry.

Watch the pair team up to perform Bury It on the Parahoy cruise, below.

Paramore’s seafaring festival has just wrapped up after setting sail from Miami to Cozumel in Mexico. It also featured performances by New Found Glory, MewithoutYou and Paramore themselves.
