I Killed The Prom Queen have made a splash at Vans Warped Tour. During one of their sets at the unfolding US punk rock summer camp, the Aussie metalcore heroes got down and dirty by jumping in the mud with punters.
In fan-shot footage of the Nashville date, guitarists Jona Weinhofen and Kevin Cameron can be seen stomping through an ankle-deep quagmire to shred some extra filthy riffage during the band’s set, while one ultra-enthusiastic fan prostrates himself like a reverent warthog at their muddy feet.
I Killed The Prom Queen are currently prepping to unfurl a new album, which they announced in tandem with their spot on the 2015 Warped bill.
Meanwhile, there’s been some mud-slinging of a different variety at this year’s Warped. Paramore singer Hayley Williams and a number of other artists have added their voices to a chorus calling for punk guitarist Front Porch Step, real name Jack McElfresh, to be booted from the lineup, following allegations that he sexually harassed several underage girls.
The Vans Warped Tour, which features a number of other Aussie bands including The Amity Affliction, Hands Like Houses and Trophy Eyes, continues around the US through until August 8th.
