Sydney dream-pop masters I Know Leopard stopped by the triple j studios this Friday morning for Like A Version and delivered a healthy dose of ’90s nostalgia, performing a cover of TLC’s Waterfalls.
The Sydney outfit gave the smooth r’n’b hit a more celestial and atmospheric feel, with the sounds of the violin coupled with their warm harmonies adding more dimension to a song that ranks on the top of most of our lists of classic ’90s jams.
While in the studio, the previous triple j Unearthed Laneway festival winners also performed their original track Perfect Picture, the first piece of new material from them since their debut EP Illumina. The band also let slip that a brand new single is on its way soon.
I Know Leopard added that they are also working on another EP and will head out on their own headline national tour once that is done. Let’s hope they’ll now make TLC a staple on that setlist.
