Kimbra was always destined for Sesame Street and now the ever jubilant Kiwi singer has found herself in the place where the air is sweet, kicking it with the likes of Elmo and Cookie Monster for what is sure to be a career high.
“Met some amazing people this year but Cookie Monster might just take the cake, or the cookie I should say,” wrote Kimbra on her Facebook today. In the video below you can watch Kimbra learning how to NOM NOM NOM on a cookie from the master himself, who, thanks to a previous encounter with John Oliver, knows the proper vernacular for such a treat in the former colonies is “biscuit”.
Things have now come pretty much full circle for Kimbra, who released her highly-anticipated new album The Golden Echo earlier this year. When describing to fans the inspiration behind the album’s first single 90s Music, featuring Muse’s Matt Bellamy, Kimbra said it was “a playful ode to youth”. Explaining further she said, “I wanted it to feel like Deerhoof hanging on Sesame St.”
