While in the country for a pair of intimate headline shows, Swedish electronic five-piece Little Dragon paid a visit to triple j this morning for Like A Version and delivered their very own cover of Kelis‘ track Millionaire, which features Andre 3000.
Prior to revealing their chosen cover song, the band gave listeners a clue of what it might be by telling them that, “It’s not a milkshake”, in reference of course to what is probably Kelis’ most well-known track. They told triple j’s Matt and Alex that their decision to cover Millionaire was quite simply because it’s one of their favourite songs.
They then ripped into their own distinctive art-pop take on the r ‘n’ b track, with frontwoman Yukimi Nagano even throwing down her own version of Andre 3000’s rap. While in the studio the band also delivwred an intimate performance of their track Pretty Girls, which features on their highly-acclaimed fourth LP, Nabuma Rubberband.
