Last year, a group of barely teenaged metalheads calling themselves Unlocking The Truth made international headlines by scoring a $1.7 million record deal with Sony. Now, here they are again. The 8th graders weren’t even born when shock rocker Marilyn Manson first caused a conservative uproar with his hit single The Beautiful People, but that didn’t stop Manson from inviting the pint-sized headbangers onstage with him to perform the track at a recent show in Pennsylvania.
Unlocking The Truth had been supporting Manson on his North American tour, which wraps up just in time for him to fly Down Under for Soundwave this month, but the ultimate moment of validation came on Saturday when the young Brooklyn trio were called up onstage to jam on the 1996 chart-scorcher.
A fan-shot video has captured the performance, showing Unlocking the Truth’s Malcolm Brickhouse, Alec Atkins and Jarad Dawkins backing up Manson on vocal duties. Brickhouse then climactically closes out the cameo by stage-diving into the crowd.
