Watch Miley Cyrus Cover Blondie’s ‘Heart Of Glass’

Miley Cyrus‘ latest single, synth-pop banger ‘Midnight Sky’ (and its corresponding video) takes a lot of cues from Debbie Harry, so it’s not a total shock to learn she’s covered Blondie’s classic ‘Heart of Glass’ as part of the virtual iHeartRadio Music Festival over the weekend.

Performing from the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles, Cyrus closed out the livestream with the Parallel Lines hit alongside three tracks of her own – ‘Midnight Sky’, ‘Who Owns My Heart’ and her Mark Ronson collab ‘Nothing Breaks Like a Heart’. Performing with a full backing band, Cyrus’ version stays relatively faithful to the original, with the singer proving more than capable of pulling off the song’s soaring vocals.

It’s not the first classic song ol’ Miles has given her spin on in recent weeks. Earlier this month, Cyrus performed a rendition of Hall and Oates’ ‘Maneater’ while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

With ‘Midnight Sky’ as the first single, Cyrus is currently gearing up to release her new album. Tentatively titled She Is Miley Cyrus, the forthcoming LP will be the musician’s first full-length album since 2017’s Younger Now. The singer recently cited the likes of Metallica and Britney Spears as influences for the album,
