Notorious British vegetarian Morrissey seems to finally be at peace with The Ramones, having now performed a killer cover of their track Judy Is A Punk overnight in Brooklyn.
As a young lad, he was quoted in the 1976 issue of Melody Maker magazine as saying that they were “rubbish,” but over the years he has slowly grown to like the American punk rock band – even curating a Best Of The Ramones playlist in 2014.
Now, he finally seems to have confirmed that he is at peace with the punk rockers’ music; and as part of the encore of his show at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre, Morrissey gave an animated cover of The Ramones 1976 release Judy Is A Punk.
We’ll have to wait and see whether he delivers any Ramones covers to Australian audiences when he comes out here at the end of this month.
