Watch: New Black Sabbath Music In ’13’ Behind-The-Scenes Video

The return of Black Sabbath is inching ever closer and now we have the first glimpses of new music from their upcoming album 13 in the form of a behind-the-scenes promotional video shot in the recording studio. The brand-new 3-minute video has been uploaded to the band’s official YouTube channel and features footage of the band – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and fill-in drummer Brad Wilk (from Rage Against The Machine) – being put through their paces by producer Rick Rubin.

The short studio clip features brief interviews with the band and Rubin – the famed producer with a beard to rival Dumbledore – who speaks of his joy to be working with the band. “I’ve been a fan of Black Sabbath my whole life, and getting to come to work every day and hear Black Sabbath songs, it stimulates something in me, just like when I was 14 years old… listening to the vinyl. It’s a really good feeling,” he says.

“My goal is to make something really great that I could listen to forever, that’s the whole heart of it. The idea that we’re making an album that hopefully can sit alongside the best Black Sabbath albums is really exciting. I mean, we’ve worn out all the old ones.”

Rubin has been at the helm of the band’s comeback record, 13, which is set for release on 10th June (13 also happens to be the title of the new Suicidal Tendacies album, however that will be coming out later this month – wise move by the band to not mess with our heads!)

13 will be available in a number of different formats, including the standard CD, a deluxe double CD album with bonus material, 12″ heavyweight vinyl in a gatefold sleeve, and a super-deluxe box set containing a Black Sabbath – The Reunion documentary.

This is sure to whet the appetite of the reformed UK metal group’s legion of fans. Black Sabbath will be touring Australia in late April and early May – limited tickets are available for all shows.
