Northeast Party House have joined forces with Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson for a surprising live musical team-up during a Melbourne Music Week event celebrating 10 years of triple J Unearthed.
Taking to the stage at the State Library of Victoria over the weekend, the unlikely collaborators performed Grinners’ 2002 New Detention hit Chemical Heart like we’ve never heard it before.
The pair made like the song’s lyrics and pulled it apart, upping the BPM and adding some brand new vocal sections to give the track a rave makeover that got the crowd moving in a climax of confetti rain.
