Pearl Jam have used a performance in Boston, Massachusetts to cover classic songs by hometown rockers Aerosmith, legendary Englishmen The Beatles and the one and only Bob Dylan.
As JamBase reports, during their show at Boston’s Fenway Park on Friday, 5th August, Eddie Vedder and company debuted their take on Aerosmith’s song Draw The Line, shared a rare performance of The Beatles’ I’ve Got A Feeling and revived their version of Bob Dylan’s Masters Of War.
Pearl Jam’s cover of I’ve Got A Feeling was at the request of a fan called Matthew Plummer, who reportedly asked for the song to be performed in memory of his late father in a post to the official Pearl Jam forums. The performance is believed to be the band’s first play-through of the cover since 2004.
Pearl Jam’s Boston show also saw the band team up with baseball players Bronson Arroyo (on Black) and Kevin Youkillis, who later joined in with a ukulele. The band also covered The Who’s Baba O’Riley to close out their 32-song set.
