Puscifer’s new EP Donkey Punch The Night is finally among us. It’s 7 tracks deep and opens with a cover of one of the most recognised songs in the history of rock ‘n roll, Queen’s classic sing-along Bohemian Rhapsody.
The cover by Maynard James Keenan and crew is a fairly faithful rendition of the original, which has Feeds divided on its merits. However, the point on which we can all agree is that Puscifer’s version of Bohemian Rhapsody takes a sharp left, hurdles over a cliff and drops into the deep end with its accompanying music video.
Puscifer’s clip sees Keenan and drag queen Dina Martina superimpose their heads over characters from a variety of old films. Definitely bizarre and at times unnerving (check out 2:26), Puscifer’s Bohemian Rhapsody is assured to burn itself into your head both audibly and visually. Definite mid-morning coffee material.
