Fans at the Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ Sydney show on Tuesday night were treated to a live collab of epic proportions, with funk legend George Clinton joining them on stage to duet on ‘Give It Away’.
Clinton’s The Parliament Funkadelic project have been opening up for the Chilis at all dates on their Aussie arena tour, but Sydney lucked out when he returned to the stage to join the headliners to perform their iconic Blood Sugar Sex Magik hit at Qudos Bank Arena.
The moment was even more poignant because 77-year-old Clinton has just announced his retirement, with his romp with RHCP forming part of his farewell lap.
Clinton of course produced the Chili Peppers’ second album Freaky Styley all the way back in 1985.

Meanwhile, RHCP’s tour continues tonight in Brisbane with a double-header on the cards, before heading to Melbourne, Geelong & Perth. Catch all the dates here.
