Due out in the first half of 2022, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman.
Warner Bros. has just released the film’s first offical trailer. The tense and evocative visuals are backed by dramatic music from composer Michael Giacchino (Doctor Strange, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story).
Matt Reeves directed The Batman. Reeves is known for the Rise of the Planet of the Apes sequels, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) and War For the Planet of the Apes (2017). He also directed 2008’s Cloverfield. Reeves co-wrote The Batman‘s script with Peter Craig, who co-wrote the 2020 Bad Boys reboot and the upcoming Top Gun reboot.
The Batman features an all star cast. Andy Serkis plays Batman’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth; Paul Dano plays the serial killer Edward Nashton, better known as The Riddler; and Jeffrey Wright appears as Gotham City Police lieutenant James Gordon.
The film also features John Turturro as the criminal Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham DA, Gil Colson; Colin Farrell as the criminal Oswald Cobblepot (nicknamed the Penguin); and Jayme Lawson as Gotham city mayoral candidate Bella Reál.
The Batman is a reboot of the Batman franchise, breaking off from Zack Snyder’s Justice League films, starring Ben Affleck as Batman. Take a look at the trailer for The Batman below.
