Watch Robin Thicke Air Dirty Laundry In “Get Her Back” Video

Robin Thicke‘s 2013 mega-hit Blurred Lines seemed to have made him as many enemies as it did fans, but the only fences the singer’s interested in mending are those between himself and estranged wife, Paula Patton. His latest effort? This on-the-nose video for new single Get Her Back.

After debuting the apologetic track with a performance at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, Thicke has now thrown dignity even more forcefully into the wind with the song’s official video, which has him engaging in all manner of heartbroken activities, like screaming desperately into some water.

However, most of the conversation surrounding the new clip has unavoidably been centred on its use of recreated text conversations, presumably based on exchanges Thicke in fact had with Patton. “I wrote a whole album about you,” one text reads, before being met with the reply, “I don’t care.”

The “whole album” about her is of course titled Paula and is slated for release this July. Among the track titles we find pleas and laments like Still Madly Crazy, You’re My Fantasy, Love Can Grow Back, and Too Little Too Late. But if Patton thinks this is the last she’ll have to hear of Thicke’s attempts to win back her love, the final text in his new clip has news for her. “This is just the beginning,” it reads.
