As anyone who saw Dune Rats’ loose AF set at this year’s Splendour In The Grass can attest, it was a bloody ripper mate. The Dunies wheeled out Grinspoon’s Phil Jamieson & Violent Soho’s James Tidswell for some live collabs while members of Hockey Dad and Skegss surfed the crowd in paddle boats.
Yep, it had everything. Everything, that is, except Shannon Noll.
Now, the Dune Platoon have finally revealed why their Splendour crowd’s thirst for a Nollsie collab was never quenched, sharing footage in an episode of their regular Dunies TV series of what happened on the fateful day they asked the Condobolin soul patch warrior to jump out of a cake during their SITG set.
Needless to say, he crushed their dreams like a beer can under the monster truck of life (bet that’s not the only thing you’ve crushed in your time, eh Nollsie? Nah just tossing ya salad shagger), but everything worked out OK in the end.
