Adelaide-born singer-songwriter Sia made a rare television appearance over the weekend as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, performing two tracks from her latest album 1000 Forms Of Fear. With a mask partially hiding her face, Sia performed Elastic Heart and Chandelier, backed by dancers and even a mime.
First up, Sia’s performance of Elastic Heart saw her surrounded by two dancers, the younger of which being Maddie Ziegler, the 12-year-old who features in the song’s controversial music video. Standing mid-stage, Sia provided a typically moving vocal performance as the two dancers moved around her. Catch footage of the performance, below.
Sia later graced viewers and the live SNL audience with a stripped-back version of her runaway hit Chandelier, which saw a mime join her on stage. Backed by a piano and a small string section, Sia belted out the pop hit as the mime recreated the track’s narrative through sign language. Footage of the performance is also available below.
