Multiple ARIA Award-winning songstress Sia is back with a new music video, which features some familiar faces. The bizarre and emotional new clip for the Aussie singer’s latest single Elastic Heart features oddball Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf trapped in a cage alongside tween dancer Maddie Ziegler.
Fans might remember Ziegler from her starring role in Sia’s last clip, Chandelier, which is nominated for the ‘Best Music Video’ gong at this year’s Grammy Awards.
The Elastic Heart video, once again directed by Sia and Daniel Askill, is something of a visual sequel to Chandelier, with LaBeouf and Ziegler starring as a feral couple entrapped within a giant birdcage, who square off against each other in a kooky dance-fight.
The song itself, which was featured on the soundtrack for the Hollywood blockbuster Hunger Games: Catching Fire, is the second single off Sia’s Aria-winning album 1000 Forms Of Fear.
The camera-shy Aussie artist will be making a rare appearance on Saturday Night Live next week to promote the new tune, sparking rumours of a re-creation performance similar to the one she recently pulled off on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for Chandelier.
Sia has confirmed via Twitter that young star Maddie Ziegler will be “one of her co-performers” for the show, leaving the door open for the possibility of Shia LaBeouf making a cameo as well. And considering the Transformers actor’s recent penchant for strange and avant-garde stage performances, we definitely wouldn’t rule it out.
