UK grime lord Stormzy has celebrated his 24th birthday by indulging in the strange (and still gross) Aussie tradition that is the shoey.
During his Splendour In The Grass sideshow at the Enmore Theatre on Tuesday night, the rapper shared champagne with the crowd, before reportedly saying, “We are in Australia, we are in Sydney. There’s something that I learnt recently — the shoey.”
After drinking champagne from one of his own sneakers, the rapper said, “Fuckin’ hell.”

Stormzy will play two shows in Melbourne later this week, before returning to Australia later this year for an appearance at Origin NYE festival, and posssibly more Shoezys.
