UK rap and grime superstar Stormzy has turned down his usual level of hype and energy for a soulful and soothing rendition of Beyoncé‘s ‘Brown Skin Girl’ and we reckon it has medicinal properties.
Stormzy performed the cover for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, with assistance from the gorgeous vocals of Stalk Ashley. On top of that, Stormzy added his own verse to the track making it that much better.
The original song featured on the Beyoncé-curated The Lion King soundtrack, The Lion King: The Gift. The track also features WizKid, Saint Jhn and Beyoncé’s own daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
On top of the cover, Stormzy also performed his newly released song ‘Sounds Of The Skeng’. His debut album Gang Signs & Prayer came out in 2017.
