You Am I added some much needed rock ‘n’ roll to the City2Surf run in Sydney today, surprising everyone with a rooftop gig.
The Aussie legends took to the roof of The Sheaf in the Eastern Suburbs to play an hour set as around 80,000 people ran past.
The Sheaf streamed the gig live on its Facebook and it’s still up there to watch if you didn’t get the chance to see Tim Rogers and co while you were running past.
“We have tried, through dishwashing and carpet cleaning to pay off a bar tab, however it has been a Sisyphean ordeal,” Rogers said about the gig in classic Rogers style.
“Hence, our little group will attempt to square the ledger by performing cult hits from the first floor awning.”
At the end of this month, You Am I will embark on a national tour with fellow rock legends Hoodoo Gurus, Jebediah and Adalita.
