The 1975 have had a crack at Ariana Grande‘s chart-scorcher ‘Thank U, Next’ during their visit to the BBC Live Lounge.
Before launching into the funky cover, frontman Matty Healy shared some kind words about Grande, saying she’s “become the main protagonist — is that the right word? — in most people’s lives.
“The person I see spoken about most,” he continued. “And somebody I’ve started to really care about for some reason. She’s had a right old tough time and I like her a lot. I think she’s cool. And she’s got a great voice. And I don’t. So I’m gonna sing one of her songs.”

During the sesh, The 1975 also played a few originals off their new album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, which is due out this Friday, 30th November.
