Currently taking their brand new album This Could Be Heartbreak around Australia, The Amity Affliction have taken time out from their usual set to pay tribute to their brothers in arms The Ghost Inside, who have gone through so much since they were involved in a fatal bus crash in November 2015.
Footage has emerged (below) of Amity belting out a post-hardcore rendition of The Ghost Inside’s call-to-arms song Engine 45 in Brisbane this week. It’s one of the MVP’s off The Ghost Inside’s 2012 opus Get What You Give, and as fans know, is the ultimate ‘fuck you’ to any tough situation or crushing reality.
The message is clear and simple with this tribute — The Ghost Inside won’t be waving no white flag anytime soon as they proudly give the finger to adversity.
The Ghost Inside are showing meta-human levels of strength following the horrific and fatal bus crash last year. Despite members losing limbs and requiring extensive surgery and rehab, they’re smiling in every photo and giving thumbs up like goddamn champions.
Amity’s broship with The Ghost Inside is well documented. In fact, prior to the crash the bands were preparing to tour Australia together, and had clocked up serious hours on the road already.
Amity still have national tour dates lined up through August and September, and will soon be taking the show regional, with a run of dates for our non-metro centres confirmed for 2017.
For now, they’ve given The Ghost Inside the great compliment ever. Watch the band cover Engine 45, below.
