Watch The Fan-Sourced Video For Stand Atlantic’s New Song ‘Drink To Drown’

As coronavirus forces us all inside and away from one another, artists are coming up with creative, mostly collaborative methods of creating music videos to go along with new music.

Australian pop-punk band Stand Atlantic have done such a thing with the video for their new single ‘Drink to Drown’, calling on fans to share clips of themselves sharing what they were using to fill the time during quarantine and self-isolation, crafting a heartwarming music video from the contributions.

The new song is the third taste of the band’s forthcoming second album – the follow-up to their 2018 debut Skinny Dipping – after previously released singles ‘Shh!’ and ‘Hate Me (Sometimes)’. With coronavirus pushing album release plans back, Stand Atlantic have nevertheless committed to sharing new music with fans throughout the pandemic.

“We’re living through history right now and as scary and uncertain as this time may be, the one thing that has been so positive to see is how everyone has come together. Everyone is going through it all at once, we’re looking out for each other from afar and there’s something comforting about that, which makes it feel like maybe this is all going to be ok,” says the band’s Bonnie Fraser.

“We also wanted to portray some positive aspects about the impacts of isolation. We had our fans across the world who are currently in isolation send us videos of themselves doing things they either never had time to do or have never even thought about doing, but now have the time to try them out. We hope this will spark creativity and solidarity to anybody who’s watching and has been affected by COVID-19.”
