Watch the First Trailer for Peter Jackson’s Beatles Documentary

The first official full-length trailer has been released for Peter Jackson’s forthcoming documentary about The Beatles, after the director shared a sneak peek late last yearThe Beatles: Get Back will premiere on Disney+ next month as a series of three two-hour instalments, between Thursday, 25th and Saturday, 27th November.

The series has been compiled from nearly 60 hours of never-before-seen footage captured by Michael Lindsay-Hogg that has been locked in a vault since. The footage largely centres around the band’s January 1969 sessions, chronicling their process and relationships with each other as they attempt to create Let It Be in the lead-up to their first performance together in over two years. The documentary also captures the band’s historic rooftop performance on Savile Row in London – their final ever concert as a group.

While depicting the band’s final chapter, it appears to counter the narrative that the band’s last days were entirely marred by interpersonal conflict, showing many moments of camaraderie from the sessions among the stress and turmoil. “The best bit of us always has been and always will be… is when we’re, backs against the wall,” Paul McCartney is heard saying in the trailer.

“Sure, there’s moments of drama, but none of the discord this project has long been associated with,” Jackson commented late last year when revealing the first look at the series. “Watching John, Paul, George and Ringo work together, creating now-classic songs from scratch, is not only fascinating – it’s funny, uplifting and surprisingly intimate.”
