It’s the clip that was teased a few weeks back, but now the full thing is here in all its glory. Behold Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson lip synching his way through Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off in a televised miming battle against Jimmy Fallon.
You see, Fallon’s new spinoff series, Lip Sync Battle, hosted by LL Cool J, premiered this past week and saw WWE Superstar-turned-actor Johnson take on Fallon himself by channelling his inner Tay Tay and shaking it all off.
The clip below demonstrates The Great One’s miming prowess and Swift-appropriate dance moves – including his physical dismissal of those ubiquitous haters by flipping Fallon the proverbial bird – all while Chrissy Teigen inexplicably shakes cocktails in the background. It’s wonderful.
For his part, Fallon hit back with an energetic performance of Harry Belafonte classic Jump In The Line. The first show also featured The Rock taking on the Bee Gees’ Stayin’ Alive while Fallon, and a gospel choir, went all out with Madonna’s Like A Prayer.
Alas, SPOILER ALERT, it was not enough to defeat The Rock.
