Big news for Tkay Maidza fans today, as the rapper has finally released her long-teased new single ‘Kim’ alongside US rapper Yung Baby Tate.
The song marks the first release from Maidza since she dropped her 2020 mixtape, Last Year Was Weird, Vol. 2.
In addition to the single, Maidza has also dropped a visual for the song where she cosplays as three famous Kims: Kim Kardashian, Kim Possible and Lil’ Kim. Yung Baby Tate gets in on it as well, giving her best rendition of Kim Possible’s nemesis, Shego.
“The idea for the song came from Kim Possible, an iconic figure in my childhood – she always came out on top,” Maidza said of the song in a press statement.
“I thought why not make a song to remind those who question me that I will always figure it out like Kim. From there when we starting planning a video we thought why not recreate iconic moments from other iconic Kims, across generations.”
