Tool have emerged from their mysterious band cave for a rare performance, headlining the Monster Mash Music Festival in Tempe, Arizona for Halloween.
Despite being conned into playing their first and only scheduled performance of 2015, Maynard James Keenan and co seemed to be in the Halloween spirit as they took the stage dressed as Led Zeppelin, and opened their set with a cover of the Houses of the Holy track, No Quarter.
“Good news, it’s fucking Halloween! Bad news, we are not Led Zeppelin,” Keenan confessed to the crowd, following the rendition.
Tool’s set also included their first performance of The Grudge with Keenan since 2002, as well as extended renditions of Descending and Stinkfist.
Hopefully a sign of more to come? Although Tool have been ruled out of Soundwave 2016, we’ll be keeping our devil horns crossed for an Australian tour (and maybe that elusive new album?) some time next year.
