Sydney MC Tuka — one third of hip hop outfit Thundamentals — has enlisted the help of singer-songwriter Thelma Plum for a cover of Angus & Julia Stone‘s hit single Big Jet Plane on the first instalment of Like A Version for triple j’s Aus Music Month.
Backed by a string section, Tuka rapped verses over the breezy track (below), driven by a beat produced by The Kite String Tangle and performed by Alon Ilsar on the futuristic gestural drum system AirSticks.
While in the triple j studios, Tuka also performed his original track My Star, which appears on his third solo album, Life Death Time Eternal.
Tuka is in the middle of a national tour in support of Life Death Time Eternal, following an appearance at Splendour In The Grass earlier this year. Catch both of his Like A Version performances in full, below.
