Watch Tweedy’s Nick Offerman-Directed ‘Low Key’ Video

Tweedy is a duo comprised of Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy and his 18-year-old son Spencer and the family band have now unveiled the tongue-in-cheek video for their single Low Key, which not only features a star-studded but was also directed by Nick Offerman, aka Parks and Recreation’s man of all wisdom Ron Swanson.

The eccentric video takes a jab at the fickle music industry and was inspired Jeff Tweedy’s early experiences trying to distribute Wilco’s music. “I always tell people that Wilco for years have practically gone door-to-door to sell records,” the elder Tweedy said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.

Now he and his son are forced, by a label exec played by comedian John Hodgman, to do just that. Prospective customers include Chance the Rapper, Mavis Staples, producer Steve Albini, Conan O’Brien, Andy Richter and Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche.

Offerman, has been involved in two music videos in the past – including starring in a very NSFW clip for FIDLAR’s song Cocaine, a decidedly different beast to this Tweedy clip. “I don’t think it was from that video that Jeff got the idea to bring me on board,” Offerman told WSJ. Jeff Tweedy and Offerman actually met when the Wilco singer appeared on season six of Parks and Recreation and have kept in touch since.

Watch the video for Low Key below and look out for a surprise guest appearance, sort of, at the end. Sukierae is out now.
