Footage has emerged of rapper Tyler, The Creator getting emotional as he watched Pharrell Williams reunite with rock/hip hop outfit N.E.R.D. on the night of Saturday, 8th November.
In the video (below), captured during Pharrell’s headlining set at Odd Future’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, N.E.R.D. member Chad Hugo takes to the stage to help Williams perform N.E.R.D.’s 2002 hit single Rock Star, and the outcome is priceless.
During the performance, Tyler, The Creator, a longtime fan of Pharrell and N.E.R.D., can be seen having an emotional moment, with his head in his hands as he paces back and forth in front of the stage. Following the performance, Tyler took to Twitter to say, “full tears when they came out”, adding that it was “like one of those you had to be there” moments.
N.E.R.D. disbanded in 2005, but later reunited to make their third album, Seeing Sounds. The group’s latest album, Nothing, was released in 2010, but this tear-jerking performance again raises the possibility of new music from the band. If that happens, we’re sure that Tyler will be overjoyed.
