UK rockers You Me At Six take your safety very seriously. So seriously, in fact, that they stopped playing mid-song at last night’s Sydney gig to make sure a struggling fan in the crowd was looked after.
As can been seen in the footage below, captured by Sydney concert-goer Ashley Dyer, frontman Josh Franceschi directs the rest of the band to stop playing once he’s notified about the struggling female fan, telling the band directly that “it’s not worth it”.
Franceschi then directs the rest of the crowd to allow the venue’s security to get through to the girl. Dyer tells Music Feeds that the rescued fan was taken over the crowd barrier, checked by first aid and appeared to have recovered.
The You Me At Six frontman later addresses the rest of crowd. “Your safety is the most important thing, above any other bullshit any musician tries to do on this stage,” he says.
“Trust me, I love shit going crazy more than the next person, but it’s not ever worth it so please have a good time, look after each other and if someone falls down, do what you did over there. Well done, two of you lot over there,” he adds, pointing in the direction of other crowd members.

You Me At Six continue their Australian tour as part of the Groovin The Moo lineup, with one last sideshow in Penrith tonight and the final two festivals in Maitland and Townsville this weekend.
