MONA FOMA is hitting Launceston for the third time next January. This year’s MONA FOMA Festival was huge. It featured the likes of Courtney Barnett and Julia Holter among a bunch of other talented musicians and artists.
Next year is no different. MONA FOMA is gearing up for another big one in 2020 with 25 venues and over 400 artists.
Leading the charge is our very own Paul Kelly. Festival organisers say, “What can we say. We love Kelly. We keep inviting him back.” He’ll be performing his Thirteen Ways to Look at Birds in the Princess Theatre.
Another biggie is Flying Lotus. The electronic genius is bringing us his special 3D show which has been specially refined for his latest, Flamagra. You can read a bit more about his 3D show here.
Amanda Palmer will be returning to Launie in January too. She’ll be doing Confessional, a show where she invites the women of Tasmania to come to her and open up about their thoughts, fears, and stories. She’ll also be performing her show, There Will Be No Intermission: An Evening of Piano, Pain and Laughter. The show explores her latest body of work, also titled There Will Be No Intermission.
