Wednesday 13 Announces 2017 Australian Tour

One of the tyrannical leaders of the horrorpunk movement, Wednesday 13 (born Joseph Poole), has announced his return to Australian shores for a run of new headline shows to be unleashed upon our poor, unsuspecting nation in March 2017.

Having last toured Australia in April this year, Wednesday 13’s next tour will be somewhat different. This time, he’ll be in close quarters with his fans (we’re talking close enough to answer questions from the crowd) and there’s a reason for this — the shows will be acoustic.

“It’s going to be such a different experience from my normal W13 shows,” says Poole.

“This tour will see Roman and Jack on guitar, along with myself of course, for these shows. I’ve had this idea for some years and I always thought it would be cool to do ‘An Acoustic Evening with…’, along with the stories behind the songs and interacting with the fans.

“I will be playing music from my entire musical catalogue, from Frankenstein Drag Queens, all the way through Murderdolls and into my solo material.”

Also joining the fun for the tour is Bourbon Crow, the outlaw country project formed by Poole and former Wednesday 13 bass player Rayen Belchere.

For two decades, Wednesday 13 has filled our minds with dark and disturbing tales of the macabre. Through regular releases — be they albums or EPs — he’s been that dark, evil voice in the back of our heads for as long as some of us can remember.

Wednesday 13’s new run of Australian shows will feature hits and fan favourites from his main project, as well as from Murderdolls, Frankenstein Drag Queens, Planet 13 and beyond.
