Get ready for a whole bunch of new music from Weezer because Rivers Cuomo & co have got a brand new album dropping next week.
It’s called OK Human and it’s apparently a piano-based, orchestral LP!
The band’s 14th studio album is due to hit our eardrums on January 29, but that won’t be the last we hear from the nerd rock lords.
They’ll be following up the record with another album, the more hard rock vibin’ Van Weezer, which is due out on May 7 and features previously released singles ‘The End Of The Game’, ‘Hero’ and ‘Beginning Of The End’.
The band originally teased both albums back in 2019, before shelving them during the pandemic.
At the time, Cuomo described Van Weezer as being “in mortal combat” with OK Human.
“That one’s totally different,” he told EW. “It’s inspired by an album from 1970 called Nilsson Sings Newman. It’s all piano-based, but it has a ton of orchestration. We just did the strings at Abbey Road. It’s just gorgeous melodies and extremely eccentric lyrics.”
You can pre-order OK Human from this Thursday and check out the official artwork & track listing in the tweet below.
