Modern day trendsetters Devildriver and Tennessee metal band Whitechapel have been slaying their way across the US in a string of sold-out shows, and now these two titans of the metal genre are planning on bringing the mayhem to Australia this September.
“Devildriver hijacked the stage and dragged crowds straight through the gates of hell and directly down the throat of the eternally damned,” wrote Substream Magazine of Devildriver’s current US tour. The band return to our shores after some crushing live performances as a part of Soundwave 2014, still touring their successful 2013 studio album Winter Kills.
Following a last-minute cancellation from the Soundwave lineup this year, Whitechapel will make their triumphant return to Australia along with the fifth full-length album of their decimating career, Our Endless War.
UPDATE 01/09/14: Brisbane six-piece Aversions Crown have been announced as the support for Devildriver and Whitechapel’s Australian tour this weekend. The band’s forthcoming album, Tyrant, is packed with the pummelling breakdowns and technical precision that has made the group one of our most sought-after metal prospects, wowing crowds during last year’s Vans Warped Tour Australia.
