Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of Bobby Brown and late singer Whitney Houston, has died aged 22.
In a statement (Via ABC News), Bobbi Kristina Brown’s aunt Pat Houston says she passed away over the weekend.
“Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
Brown entered hospice care last week, following months of ongoing hospitalisation. In January, she was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta-area home. Paramedics were able to resuscitate her, but she was in a medically-induced coma and placed on life support.
According to TMZ, Brown passed away when her family decided to take her off all her medications, which came after a specialist said there was no chance of recovery.
Brown has been at the centre of heated debates between family members over her drug problems and subsequent medication.
After being placed in a medically-induced coma in January, Brown was transferred to Emory University Hospital in February, where she remained in a coma, and then a rehab facility in March.
Whitney Houston died from a drug overdose in 2012 while sitting in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The County coroner’s office said the cause of Houston’s death was an “accidental drowning” with cocaine in her system, with heart disease also adding to the effects of the drugs.
Brown performed with her mother in several live duets, and had appeared in many television series and specials about the Houston family.
