Will Young Has No Plans to Retire from Music

Will Young, the 45-year-old singer who rose to fame after winning ‘Pop Idol’ in 2002, has revealed he is not planning to retire from music anytime soon. Despite previously expressing a desire to retire by age 50, Young now has a different perspective on his future in the industry.

In an interview with Music Week, Young shared that his views on aging and music have evolved. “At the time I said it, I genuinely believed it because I couldn’t envision being in my fifties as a pop star,” he admitted. “But now I feel like, okay, you can embrace your age and continue. I have about four different musical projects I’d like to explore, which will likely extend my career beyond 50.”

Young, known for hits like ‘Your Game,’ also acknowledged the challenges and rewards of staying in the industry. He mentioned, “There’s something brilliant about continuing in the industry and celebrating that. I wouldn’t be doing it if I didn’t enjoy it.”

Although Young previously envisioned retiring to spend time with dogs, he now feels renewed enthusiasm for his music career and has no immediate plans to step away from it.
