The newly evolved Wolf & Club have announced they will be releasing their third full-length album Heavy Weight Friday, 13th September. It’s been a while between drinks for fans of the band, who have sat patiently for 4 years waiting for this record, though it’s finally on the way and to tide us over, they’ve released the shiny new single I Need More.
It’s an interesting time to be a fan of Wolf & Cub since a structural adjustment saw the addition of The Scare members Brock Fitzgerald and Wade Keighran into the fold back in 2011. Since then, the band has managed to pop out one single, 2012’s Salao, which showed the world the band’s new found direction and purpose. Funnily enough, whatever impression that particular track left fans with will be totally undone by I Need More, which is a far less tripped out affair than its older sibling.
I Need More is a swelling straight up and down rock track, pulsing and thumping with discontent for its duration. The track is officially out now and marks the start of a new era for Wolf & Cub, and from what we can tell so far there’s no way to predict where this will end up. The band sought the wisdom of Burke Reid (The Drones, PVT, Oh Mercy) in the studio, which surely explains some of the genre bending results.
