Beachside charity festival Ride The Sound Wave has shared its 2024 line-up, with a headlining performance from veteran roots singer-songwriter Xavier Rudd. All proceeds raised from ticket sales to the Port Macquarie event will go towards the Make A Difference (MAD) Foundation, a local not-for-profit charity that aims to “support disadvantaged and marginalised people living in [the] Mid North Coast community”.
Joining Rudd on the line-up will be Sunshine Coast folk duo The Dreggs, Warnindhilyagwa singer-songwriter Emily Wurramara, Western Australian blues-and-roots duo Mama Kin Spender and folk group the Round Mountain Girls. In addition, there will be a children’s concert held during the day with a performance from The Teeny Tiny Stevies that will also include a jumping castle, pony rides and face-painting.

In a press statement, MAD’s director Erin Denham (who also serves as the festival’s event coordinator) expressed her excitement at the 2024 line-up and shared hopes that the community initiative will serve as an incentive for people to buy tickets.
“his year’s events raised more than $100,000 that’s being used to support people in need in the Hastings – and we’re hoping we can do even better in 2024,” she said.
“We’ve kept the ticket prices at an affordable level – as we want the event to be as accessible as possible while also raising funds for MAD to help those in need in our community. We’re building a reputation for putting together a lineup that would rival bigger events, but at a more affordable rate.”
