Yeah Yeah Yeahs Perform ‘Sacrilege’ On Letterman With A Gospel Choir

Yeah Yeah Yeahs performed Sacrilege, the opening track from their upcoming album Mosquito on The Late Show With David Letterman last night, with backing from the Broadway Inspirational Voices gospel choir.

Karen O was as charismatic as ever, performing in a bright yellow suit with the words ‘Violent Fuzz’ emblazoned on the back, a lyric from another track on the album, Area 52. You can check out the video below.

The frontwoman told Letterman:

“I am extremely excited about this record, excited in a way that I was back in the day, Fever To Tell kind of style. It’s kind of like a Yeah Yeah Yeahs soul record – our version of one – but also it’s really playful and tongue in cheek at times. I think its got something for everyone.”

Yeah Yeah Yeahs aren’t the first group to get all Sister Act on us this week, with Paramore also featuring a gospel choir on their brand-new self-titled album.

Mosquito was streamed live online earlier this week and is released in Australia through Modular Recordings on Friday, 12th April.
