The simulation gets ever weirder.
Ray Davies has announced that legendary British band The Kinks are recording a new album, as well as suggesting that they might play some shows.
Speaking to BBC’s Channel 4 News, Davies said that he, his brother Dave Davies and drummer Mick Avory are working on a new album, and it’s inspired by The Rolling Stones.
“I think it’s kind of an appropriate time to do it,” Davies said.
“It won’t be well-organised like the Rolling Stones. You must praise The Rolling Stones for being great at publicity and a great band great at organising their careers and Mick has done an incredible PR job and it’s kind of inspiring to see them doing it.”
The Kinks’ last record was 1993’s Phobia, and they haven’t played a show together since 1996, so this is a massive moment. It also comes as a surprise considering the very public and very nasty feud that was going on between Ray & Dave for years.
