Wollongong’s Yours & Owls Festival has added another four Aussie acts to its 2016 lineup, while also announcing a huge and “trippy AF” new art installation called ‘Moon Beach’.
The latest additions to Yours & Owls’ 2016 lineup are Sydney indie-rockers The Jezabels, back by their latest album, Synthia. There’s also experimental pop ensemble Shining Bird, who are in the lead-up to releasing their second studio album.
Also joining the lineup are the cultish Melbourne rockers Pagan and the noisey indie-rock of Adelaide’s Horror My Friend, who join the roster with previously announced acts like Ball Park Music, DMA’s, Remi, Tkay Maidza and Sampa The Great. Catch the full lineup, below.
Art-wise, Yours & Owls’ full-dome ‘Moon Beach’ augmented reality installation is promising to use projections and specially commissioned music by Daniel Stricker, Russell W and Jono Watts to guide punters in the “search of a deeper understanding of the power and mystery of music and its effect on the human soul”, whatever that means.
First release ticket for Yours & Owls Festival have sold out, but second release tickets are on sale now. The festival is set to take place across two days near North Wollongong Beach this October.
