Sydney pop-punk outfit Yours Truly released their debut studio album Self Care back in 2020, and now they’re taking it on the road for the first time. The band will be playing a trio of east coast shows this May to help launch the album.
The run of dates kicks off with a show at West Room in Brisbane on May 14, with a hometown gig at Crowbar in Sydney the following evening. They’ll wrap up the brief run with a show at Howler in Melbourne on May 22. Support for all three shows will come from Stuck Out.
Self Care arrived back in September of last year following a pair of EP from the band, and featured a string of attention-grabbing singles like ‘Undersize’ and ‘Funeral Home’.
“We really learnt and lived a lot in one year, and writing these songs allowed me to understand myself on a whole new level throughout it all,” singer Mikaila Delgado explained upon the album’s announcement.
“The experience was a true form of self-care that ended with me feeling stronger, smarter, enlightened and positive after a rollercoaster of emotions.”
Last year also saw Yours Truly appear on triple j’s Like a Version to deliver an amped-up cover of Oasis’ classic ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’.
