Be still our little emo hearts. Sydney’s angels of pop punk, Yours Truly have taken on this week’s Like A Version and how bloody good. Covering Oasis’ all-timer ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ they’ve put an amazing heavy spin on the classic.
It’s truly the cover we never knew we NEEDED. As if that wasn’t enough though, they’ve blessed us with a rendition of their single from their upcoming album. The live version of ‘Composure’ is just as special as the studio version. Especially Mikaila Delgado’s iconic, “Stay the fuck away” line.
Chatting about the cover, the band’s Mikaila and Teddie explain their admiration for bands that take on a genre-defying track, citing Art Vs Science’s iconic LAV.
“It was so cool, just taking a completely different spin on it while having it still feel like the original, that was a big inspiration,” said Teddie.
‘Composure’ was the first taster we received from Yours Truly’s debut album before ‘Together’. The album, Self Care is due out Friday, 18th September.
On the album, Mikaila Delgado says, “The album was named Self Care because it healed so much of me as we wrote it, I’m hoping when Sep 18th comes around it does the same for you.”
