Zayn Malik Is Reportedly Developing A New TV Series About A Boy Band

Zayn Malik is reportedly set to use his experience as a member of the world’s biggest boy band to develop a new TV series.

Zayn, whom Urban Dictionary best describes as “Jesus sliding down a rainbow to get to a magical pot of sexiness”, is set to executive produce the as-yet-untitled show, which will centre around a One Direction-style boyband.

As Music News reports, the fictional series will chronicle the exploits of a group of young singers on their journey to become global superstars, and Zayn will use his expertise in the field to consult with scriptwriters and casting directors throughout the creative process.

The show will be produced by the same team behind hit Hollywood drama Entourage, who are also reportedly planning to launch its fictional popstars as a genuine music act, who will record and release original music from the show IRL.

So, kind of like The Monkees for Gen Zeds?

A “source” told UK’s The Sun newspaper: “It’s a subject he knows lots about and he will call upon his experiences to advise the scriptwriters on the show. If the series does well, he’ll receive plenty of kudos in the industry.”

Zayn’s involvement comes as a bit of a plot twist in his post-1D career. The popstar was openly critical of the boyband post #Direxit, slagging their music as “generic as fuck” and making no secret of the fact that he’d become too cool for the boy band bizz.

But much like Luke Skywalker before him, the prodigal student is now set to return and become the jedi master.

Except, you know, of boy bands.
