FBi Radio held its annual SMAC – Sydney music arts and culture – awards at the Powerhouse Museum, Ultimo, on Thursday, 9th November. Ziggy Ramo took home Record of the Year for his album, Sugar Coated Lies, which was released on Invasion Day 2023. Vv Pete was the night’s most awarded artist, snagging the SMACs for Best Live Act and Song of the Year (for ‘Jordan 1s’; an awarded shared with the song’s producer Utility.)
Inner West venue the Red Rattler Theatre was the recipient of SMAC of the Year. “The Red Rattler Theatre has shown such incredibly quick and responsive programming this year, especially in times when coming together as community is so necessary but can feel so out of reach,” said FBi’s managing director Tanya Ali. “They embody being truly grassroots. Put simply – FBi Radio in the way that it is today wouldn’t be possible without a venue like this. This city is far better for it.”
