Chicago punk band Twin Peaks have announced their brand new album Lookout Low which is due in just a couple of months time. Set for release Friday 13th September via Pod/Intertia and Space 44, Lookout Low will be Twin Peaks’ first album since 2016. The follow up to 2016’s Down In Heaven will be their fourth full-length release.
To celebrate, they’ve also released the lead single, ‘Dance Through It’ along with a video clip — phwoar. The single is really smooth, jazzy, and really chill with a touch of catchiness.
Announcing the news on Instagram, the boys said, “The creation of ‘Lookout Low’ was the longest we’ve invested in a record. From demoing almost 30 songs and rehearsing what felt like could be ‘the record,’ to deciding to work with Ethan John [U2, Paul McCartney] and record live, it was a much more drawn out endeavor than how we’d previously operated.”
“At the end of the day that patience and focus feels rewarding. Although it’s our first record working with an experienced Producer, it feels like our least produced and sonically aestheticized record. It bridges the gap between our studio work and live show, a bridge that felt missing to us before and that we’re excited to have built.”
In a statement Cadien Lake James said, “Writing and arranging ‘Dance Through It’ felt like a dive into and embrace of experimenting with a new palette for us.”
“After having been directly involved in the creation and direction of all of our videos, it felt fitting to allow this song the breath of collaboration in having Ariel Fisher take the helm and run with it.”
